Time for a review on fire safety This is quite frustrating for those who have for years been pointing out the various weaknesses in Approved Document B (ADB) ("We have to get this right", 17 April 2015, page 28). At last it looks as if something might be done. Of course, I'm not holding my breath as the usual financial impact is applied and, if it's going to add expense to construction and ultimately to '"UK Building pic", recommendations will be watered down or marginalised and things will go back to the way they were always done. The main issue with any kind of fire protection measure is that it is left for anybody to do. Surely, if it's to do with safety, it should be done by qualified and accredited specialists. I have seen so much rubbish installed in homes as so called fire protection that the incident described by Mr Stunell is no surprise. The only surprise is why it's not reported more often. Review of ADB? Bring it on!
