Construction output heads downwards in quarter to February

Construction output fell again in the three months to February, driven by a collapse in repair and maintenance work, according to the latest Office for National Statistics figures. Industry-wide output fell 0.8% in the three months to February, while repair-and-maintenance sector output fell by 2.6%. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said the big decline in repair work was partially offset by growth in infrastructure and housebuilding.
