Crossrail criticised for further delays and cost hikes

The former head of the London Assembly's transport committee has raised concerns about communications related to the latest Crossrail delay. In August Crossrail said that its overspend would hit £l.lbn - rather than the £650m that it had said it would need at the end of last year -and not be finished until the first half of 2022. This will mean the project opens three-and-a-half years late and costs more than £19bn.
