Compensation for delay cost Crossrail £lbn

Compensation claims from contractors have added almost £lbn to the overall cost of Crossrail, a National Audit Office (NAO) report has found. The report, Completing Crossrail, said the largest category of overspend has been commercial settlement, with Crossrail forced to hand out £936m - the bulk of it, £788m, paid out over 2015 and 2016.
