Value of exports to Europe falls

The value of the UK's construction exports to countries in the EU has dipped over the past year, signalling a reduced reliance on Europe in the face of Brexit, new data has revealed. Statistics released by the business department show that the value of the UK's construction material exports to the EU fell from £4.7bn in 2018 to £4.3bn last year - a drop of 8.5%. Meanwhile, the value of exports to countries outside the EU grew from £2.8bn to £3.4bn over the same period.
