Budget boost for affordable homes programme

Rishi Sunak's Budget contained a wide-ranging package to stimulate housing and regeneration, and the centrepiece was the announcement of a boost for the affordable homes programme, David Blackman writes. Housing associations reacted positively to news that the programme will continue, and more welcome was the extra funding for the five-year programme which should be worth £12.2bn, a one-third rise compared with the existing £9bn programme.
