Re: "What will the Worcester Park fire mean for fire regs?" (bdonline.co.uk, 16 September). It would seem pretty clear the fire was not contained by adequate fire compartments between flats. In the case of a speculative housing developer, the quality of building control must be questioned. Sprinklers should not be used as a fix for a lack of other sensible fire-protection methods. For the foreseeable future, all buildings should be completely evacuated if there is a fire.
