Transport jobs hit Vinci profit but building business is buoyant

Vinci said its Taylor Woodrow civil engineering arm racked up close to £14m in losses last year, which helped cut the company's overall pre-tax profit by more than a third. The firm said the division posted a loss of £13.6m, which it said related to closing out a scheme it signed in 2011 to extend the Nottingham tram. The project has cost the company more than £150m. It also made a loss on a new Crossrail maintenance depot at Old Oak Common.
