The North Lantau Hospital will be the first community hospital in Lantau Island, with capacity capable to deliver public hospital services to meet the demand of the population in North Lantau and to provide emergency support services to the Hong Kong International Airport and major tourist facilities in Lantau Island. The new neighbourhood healthcare facility will provide accident and emergency care and non-complex secondary in-patient care including step down extended care for the local community. Together with the associated clinics and day care facilities, the new hospital will provide extended primary care and ambulatory secondary care in major specialties such as medicine, surgery and geriatrics.
