摘要

This study investigated and quantified embodied energy use of China's construction sector at a multi-scale level. In general, a structural decomposition analysis (SDA) was employed to explore the driving forces behind the construction sector at the national level. At the regional level, a multi-regional input-output (MRIO) model was then used to investigate the hidden energy linkages among construction sectors in various provinces. Simultaneously, an optimized algorithm based on structural path analysis (SPA) was designed to quantify energy input to the upstream supply chain. Ultimately, a multi-regional system for assessing the embodied energy use at the project level was developed and validated in real cases by conducting comparative and empirical analyses.
