The Scottish government has revealed a range of measures to speed up its planning system, in a move it calls a "fundamental shift" in its approach to planning.rnThe changes include a promise for simpler and more transparent processes; publication of planning reports and local development plans; faster decision-making by local councils on applications; and a new electronic planning system to be formally launched next spring.
