Dream design for leisure brings luxury to Italy's Umbrian hills

Flacq has created a concept design for a new leisure and residential development in Umbria, north of Rome, which it hopes could do for the area what Peter Zumthor's thermal baths did for Vals in Switzerland.rnThe scheme includes renovating a ruined 15th century fort at the centre of the 225ha site to turn it into a luxury hotel, and creating a 4,200sq m spa which steps down the hillside in a series of terraces.rnThe project also features 88 villas and 20 two-storey town houses dotted around the site.rnFlacq associate Renee Searle said: "It's a dream project. The fort has an amazing 360-degree view of the undulating landscape."
