Critic and architectural theorist Charles Jencks is to transform the blighted site of a spent Scottish coal mine into a fanciful landscape of stepped hillsides and artificial lochs.rnThe multi-million-pound Fife Earth Project is being funded by the Scottish Resources Group (SRC), owner of Scottish Coal, which hopes the 269ha public park will become a major tourist attraction when it is completed in 2012.rnJencks, who is also co-founder of the Maggie's cancer care centres, has designed the park based on the idea of the "Scottish diaspora", the 40 million emigre Scots and their impact on the rest of the world.
