Wider stage for Rambert

Allies & Morrison has completed a new headquarters for contemporary dance company Rambert on London's South Bank. The 3,465sq m building spans seven floors including the basement and provides a mix of single and double-height spaces arranged around an open courtyard at the centre. Three dance studios sit alongside shared changing rooms, workshops, technical areas and office space. A dance archive and reading room are open to the public. The building structure has an exposed concrete frame, with two studios projecting from the front facade as glass and aluminium-clad boxes. It is designed to achieve a Breeam "very good" rating.
