Pascall & Watson has submitted plans for a £200 million extension of London City Airport which would see the facility double its capacity in the next 10 years. The project involves the construction of a terminal extension and a taxiway to improve runway capacity, but not a second runway. Pascall & Watson said the design was based on "an appreciation and respect of the surrounding townscape and historic context, including the industrial legacy of the Royal Docks", and combines "quality design with the functional necessities of a modern airport".
