3DReid culls staff and pins its hopes on Malaysia

3DReid has revealed details of a restructure that has seen four directors resign and left 10 members of staff, including another director, redundant. The 18-month exercise was completed last month. The remaining directors of the practice said this week that the business had been through the worst and hoped to see growth from overseas contracts. 3DReid is already working in Brazil, UAE, China and Southeast Asia. New clients in Malaysia, including a two-tower project in Kuala Lumpur, have boosted turnover by £1 million. "There is still nervousness in the market but there seems to be cash, certainly in London, and some of this is flowing out to the regions," said Graham Hickson-Smith, one of the directors who stepped down to set up a consultancy and is now employed by the firm part-time.
