David Chipperfield's renovation of the Cafe Royal hotel and restaurant has been savaged by two leading food critics. The architect carried out the work with Donald Insall Associates, and the 10-storey building opened in December. Its bars and restaurants include the Ten Room, an art-deco-style restaurant.
