Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield wanted to downsize its Newark, N.J., headquarters, while providing a modern environment to support employee recruiting and retention. HOK helped the healthcare provider refine metrics for its mobility, or telecommuting, program, and determine how this would impact the amount and type of space the company would require. "Horizon then began the roll-out of a change-management strategy that not only promoted these changes, but engaged employees to help them understand the new workplace program," says Leigh Stringer, LEED AP, HOK's Senior VP and Director of Innovation and Research.
