If there were a way Brandon Tartikoff could be master of ceremonies for the Third Annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards, there's no doubt he would fill his comments with a self-deprecating analysis of his own contributions to television. Sadly, we'll miss a funny monologue from the former NBC programming genius, who died of Hodgkin's disease in 1997, when he was just 48. But his legacy does live on. Instantly likeable and devilishly witty, he had the knack for knowing how to nurture hits. That instinct took NBC from industry laughingstock to powerhouse in a few short years.
