The second largest Hispanic population in the state. Texas, Houston has the largest Hispanic population in the DMAs in the state, with growth up 182% since 1990, according Geoscape International, American Marketscape DataStream: 2011 Series. Today, Houston is the No. 3 Hispanic market in the U.S. with 2.3 million Latinos calling it home. Today, Mexicans comprise 79% of Houston's Latino population. The next largest group is a distant second: Salvadorans at 8% of the Latino component. Small numbers of Hondurans (3%), Guatemalans (2%), Colombians (2%) and Puerto Ricans (l%),plus 5% of other Hispanics, round out the total.
