ABC, AFFILIATES AGREE ON FORWARD-REACHING NEWS SERVICE DEAL

ABC, its affiliates board and ABC News have worked out a three-year deal for ABC's NewsOne service that covers how content is shared in an increasingly digital world. The deal was a complicated one, and a long time in the works. "During the time that this agreement has been developed, the ways in which television stations and ABC produce news content has both expanded and changed in many ways," said John Rouse, senior VP of affiliate relations. "We have gone to great lengths to try to capture current uses, as well as anticipate future uses of video, with reciprocity as a guiding principle."
