FIOS SPEEDS TO TOP OF NETFLIX RANKINGS

Verizon FiOS jumped ahead of Cox Communications to take the top spot among major broadband providers in Netflix's ISP Speed Index for September. Verizon FiOS provided an average Netflix speed of 3.75 megabits per second in September, inching past Cox's 3.72 Mbps and Cablevision Systems' 3.69 Mbps. Mediacom Communications, meanwhile, jumped two spots, with an average during primetime hours of 3.57 Mbps. Clearwire (1.31 Mbps) remained at the bottom of the heap of ISPs tracked by Netflix.
