Creating the Future of Broadcasting

NHK started its radio broadcasting in 1925; it will reach its 100th anniversary of broadcasting in 2025. To ensure that broadcasting remains a medium that is supported by all of our viewers and is positioned as a central part of their lives, the Science & Technical Research Laboratories will continue its leading-edge research and development to create the future of broadcasting. As we promote research and development carried out with a long-term view, looking a decade or two into the future, we value the public presentation and development of our research results, and the visibility of our progress. The annual STRL open house indeed serves such a purpose.
