摘要

Humans recognize shapes and colors through rays of light from objects entering their eyes. If it were possible to record and display all of the light rays coming from an object, we should be able to "see" the object as if it were actually there. This is the basic concept of the integral 3D scheme. The integral 3D display consists of a lens array panel with numerous aligned micro-lenses and a flat display. The display produces elemental images for reproducing the light rays originating from the image pixels, and the image is spatially reconstructed. While element images are usually obtained with an integral 3D camera, a new technique was developed to generate element images based on a 3D model of a subject.
