Digital Broadcasting and Fusion of Broadcasting and Broadband

Japan's TV broadcasting is going completely digital. This exhibit introduced various unique features that allow viewers to get the most from digital services, along with their supporting technologies and VHF-band Mobile Multimedia broadcasting, which is scheduled to start after analog broadcasting ends.Research continues on Hybridcast, a platform offering attractive services through a fusion of broadcasting and broadband communications. Our latest prototype set top box, key technologies, and examples of potentially-feasible services were exhibited.
