From the 2011 STRL Open House -Experience the Future of Digital Broadcasting

To exhibit its latest research results, the NHK Science & Technology Research Laboratories (STRL) held its annual open house from Thursday, May 26, to Sunday, May 29. The theme of the open house was "Experience the Future of Digital Broadcasting", and it presented thirtysix exhibits on STRL's leading-edge research. The event attracted 18,873 visitors, who experienced firsthand the various research projects that STRL has been conducting in preparation for TV broadcasting services after the switchover to digital broadcasting in Japan is completed, including technologies for networked broadcasting services and Super HiVision (SHV) systems.
