STRL has developed and continues to improve a wireless camera system that utilizes millimeter-wave-band radio waves. It has primarily been used for music programs and sports relay broadcasts. In a music program, a wireless camera makes it possible for cameramen not to worry about cable and perform complicated shots, including circling around cast members and freely moving around the audience seating area. The camera is safer to operate on stages and backstages that tend to be crowded with people and set equipment.
