Latest Research Results Exhibited at 'NHK STRL Open House 2019'

"NHK STRL Open House 2019" was held over four days from May 30 to June 2 (Thu. to Sun.), introducing our latest research results. The theme this year was "Taking media beyond the box". Research results on media technologies for a future envisioned by NHK STRL were exhibited, including technologies for implementing new viewing services outside the "box" of conventional television, such as 3D television, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR). The open house also included two keynote speeches, six presentations from NHK STRL researchers in a new format that we call "Lab Talks", screening of content in the 8K theater, and other family-oriented events.
