Metadata and MXF, part 1

This month, we will begin a two-part series on metadata and MXF. First, we will look at the importance of metadata to the professional media facility. Then, we will look at some of the specifics of metadata as applied to file interchange via MXF. Most video professionals are now quite familiar with metadata. But, just to be sure everyone is on the same page, when I use the term metadata in this tutorial, I am referring to information (data) that typically refers to a program, commercial or other video/ audio content.
