With a length approaching 200km, the A10 Berliner Ring is believed to be the longest motorway ring road in Europe. In the heavily-trafficked southern section, the road is now being widened to eight lanes in the area around the Nuthetal interchange. In particular, due to the fact that the borders between Germany and Poland were opened in the middle of last December, traffic volumes increased even further. In order to address this problem, two new bridges are being built, and they are steel composite bridge structures.
