Novosibirsk plans another Ob River crossing

The city authorities in Novosibirsk are planning to spend an estimated US$600 million on building a new bridge over the Ob River in the city in western Siberia. The bridge will be a total length of 5.1km, of which the river crossing will comprise approximately 850m. The form of the new bridge has not yet been finalised, but it is likely to consist of a cable-stayed bridge with a 350m-long main span and a deck at 10m above the river level. The bridge will be known as Krivoshchekovskaya and will carry six lanes designed for highway speeds of up to 100km/h as well as a tram line. The project includes construction of a road overbridge on the left bank, a railway line overbridge, and road junctions on both sides of the river.
