The final items of falsework on the Williams Bridge were taken down last month (January) following a year-long renovation project that has had its fair share of hurdles. These ranged from scaffolding design constraints and strict installation requirements to unexpected asbestos contamination and high winds of lOOkm/h. The 318m-long Williams Bridge crosses the River Maas in the centre of the Rotterdam and, together with the Queen's Bridge, links the northern and southern parts of the city via North Island.
