We once had a very cool deckhand from Australia. He was young and good-looking - but by the end of the first trip on board, he'd driven everyone mad. First, he'd paired off with a new stewardess just one week into the journey. It wasn't long before they couldn't stand each other, and she was desperate to get away from "that idiot." Then, he shared with another crew member, but he was such a cleanliness freak that his cabin mate decided he couldn't put up with him any longer. As a last resort, it was hoped that a member of the delivery crew, who was notoriously tough, would manage to get on with him. Soon, however, there were tensions between the two of them. One night, the rest of the crew, having gone out for a curry on land, were bemused to find on their return that both men were fighting - not with fists, but with baguettes.
