Asamer of Austria has acquired a major shareholding in a Libyan cement plant

The Austrian construction material manufacturer Asamer has acquired a major shareholding in the Libyan Cement Company (LCC) of Libya for €110 m. Asamer Holding has acquired 56% of the Libyan Cement Manufacturing Joint Venture Company (JLCC), which owns 90% of the LCC, according to Austrian Bank RZB. Asamer's partner in the JLCC joint venture is the Libyan Government Investment Fund. LCC operates three cement works on two sites, in Benghazi and in Der-nah. Asamer has launched an intensive investment program for all three cement works, said the RZB bank.
