A significant "game changer" in Africa during the past few years is the increase in commercial activity in the region by China, says Naveed Sultan, head of Global Transaction Services, EMEA at Citi. During 2008, China trade with Africa totalled $107bn and 30% of China's oil supplies now come from the continent.
