Lucent touts push into services in ads aimed at telecom providers

Lucent technologies faced a huge challenge last spring when it launched an integrated marketing campaign targeting telecommunications providers. The Murray Hill, N.J.-based company, known for deployment and maintenance of equipment for telecom companies, want- ed to tell customers about a big push into consulting and managed services―businesses not traditionally associated with Lucent, said Stef van Aarle, VP-marketing for Lucent Worldwide Service, a di vision of Lucent.
