Podcasts seemingly appeared out of nowhere last year, and now, somewhat belatedly, some of the first research about their adoption—particularly in the b-to-b sector—is beginning to appear as well. Last year, Pew Research counted more than 6 million pod-cast users. Bloggers and others criticized that number as too high. At around the same time, Forrester Research predicted the number of pod-cast users by the end of 2006 will be around 700,000, a number criticized as too low.
