As the world counts down to this summer's fifa world cup in South Africa, the Chief Marketing Officer Council and the International Marketing Council of South Africa have launched an online contest to capitalize on the country playing host to the most popular sporting event on Earth. The Get Wildly Creative About South Africa contest challenges participants to creaternprint, video and digital ads that capture the essence of what "Brand South Africa" means to them. The top submissions' creators will be recognized at an event in New York and showcased online, as well as earn cash prizes and a trip to South Africa. "[The contest] will really help us stimulate creative thinking inside the country and open up new areas of messaging and positioning," said CMO Council Executive Director Donovan Neale-May, a South African himself.
