Moving AWIS Forward in its 35th Anniversary Year

In reflecting upon the President's column for this issue, I see parallels in the emergence of spring in the Washington, D.C. area and in the renewal processes underway for AWIS. The burst of cherry blossoms and daffodils has now been replaced by tulips and azaleas, and those, in turn, will be followed by the flowers of summer. As in nature, there are cyclical AWIS events and activities, but there is also necessary change as AWIS adapts to the needs of its members and chapters in the environment of 2006 for women in science.
