The work-life integration issues of today's families have become less about gender and more about quality of life for all employees. Employers that do not have family-friendly practices are at risk of not only losing talented female employees, but male employees as well. Due to rigorous schedules and outdated work policies, which often conflict with personal time and family life, both men and women are leaving the STEM fields. It only adds to the perpetual sting of the United States'seemingly permanent spot on the list of 4 countries worldwide (Swaziland, Lesotho, and Papua New Guinea) that do not mandate paid maternity leave. Work-life integration is no longer just a "woman's" issue.
