Spotlight on Seattle: 20th Anniversary!!!

The following is an excerpt from an email sent in by Jeannette Morrow (AWIS-Indiana) in September 2004: "We just asked several new members what they want from AWIS-IN; the majority want to teach children about science. Others say they would not be where they are today had someone not helped and encouraged them; now they want to pay the favor back by helping someone else." So, last time I promised to bring you news of science mentoring programs for young women. Luckily, Seattle AWIS has an outstanding mentoring program dubbed GEMS (Girls in Engineering, Math and Science) and they just happened to celebrate their 20th Anniversary in June 2005.
