Rapide Returns

De Havilland DH.89A Dragon Rapide G-AHAG flew for the first time in four decades on August 19, 2013, with Classic Air Force chief pilot Jon Corley at the controls. Built in 1945 and allocated to the RAF as Dominie RL944, the aircraft subsequently had several civilian owners, but after an accident in 1972 it was stored. Eventually restored at Membury, Wiltshire, the Dragon Rapide passed to David Findon in March 2011. He continued its restoration and had it repainted in its Hawker Siddeley Aviation colours.
