Hopes of seeing a Mosquito return to UK skies have been boosted thanks to significant developments concerning two separate projects. Vulcan to the Sky Trust (VTST) and The People's Mosquito will collaborate in a bid to return de Havilland Mosquito NF.36 RL249 to the sky. Nick Horrox from The People's Mosquito said: "We have been in discussions with VTST regarding how, in the wake of XH558's retirement from flight, The People's Mosquito can leverage that organisation's knowledge, experience and physical resources to help bring about the return to flight of RL249. We are discussing how we can utilise VTST's marketing fulfilment resource to take on specific elements of merchandising and supporter communication." More details of the partnership will be announced shortly. In a completely separate project, Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar has announced it is teaming up with New Zealand-based Avspecs to restore a de Havilland Mosquito to airworthy condition. The aircraft is to be based at Biggin Hill, Kent.
