The principal focus of AVspending tends to vary by vertical market, according to Sean Wargo, senior director of market intelligence at AVIXA. "For corporate companies, conferencing and collaboration continue to dominate the mix, enabling remote and local staff to work together as efficiently and effectively as possible." This view is clearly borne out by AV Magazine's, latest reader survey in which half of respondents identified collaboration or communication technology as their priority investment over the coming year. "In hospitality, retail and transportation, digital signage is coming on very strongly," says Wargo. "That's partly because the price of displays is falling, but the major driver is a desire to communicate better with cus-tomers and make strong branding statements. Sports stadia are also using AV technology to communicate with fans and promote their brands, with top teams trying to outdo each other in the size of their screens."
