Output at key Suzuki production centres is to be stepped up dramatically over the next few months as the Japanese company's bid for higher global sales gathers momentum, reports Maurice Glover. European registrations of 169,000 in 1997 will be increased to reach 200,000 this year in a planned expansion. This will drive annual sales to the 250,000 level early next century with the ending of the self restraint agreement which covers the Europe's level of Japanese automotive imports.
