Owned by Manganese Bronze Holdings (MBH), London Taxis International (LTD is the largest British-owned carmaker, producing 3,000 taxis a year at its Coventry factory. About 300 of these are for export. LTI has 80 per cent of the UK market for purpose-built taxis and sales are expected to grow as new regulations require all London cabs to accommodate wheelchair-bound passengers by the year 2000, with the rest of the country having to comply later.
