Rethinking the anti-smoking campaign

Action on pollution and the environment seems to be increasing generally and a recent seminar suggests that the automotive industry will have to make significant changes in the way it designs and sells vehicles. That seminar, held in December, presented the results of accurately simulated real-world emissions tests on trucks and buses by Millbrook Proving Ground. The upshot could be a new philosophy for vehicle design and more research into engine performance, fuel recipes and aftertreat-ment systems.
