Specialist cars compete with industry comebacks

Whilst it could easily be perceived as living under the joint shadow of Frankfurt and Tokyo, the London Motor Show at Earls Court is a vibrant and useful showcase for Britain's plethora of specialist car manufacturers. That, however, is not to damn it with faint praise as it was deemed important enough for the world launches of a number of new models from the likes of Honda, Hyundai and Mazda. Whilst these three manufacturers were also showing the same models in Tokyo, they were unveiled in London a full 18 hours before being shown in Japan, allowing the British Show organisers to chalk up their claims with some justification.
