Special Issue of 28th Education and Research in Computer Aided Architecture Design in Europe (eCAADe)Conference

摘要

In September 2010, ETH Zurich organized the 28th Education and research in Computer Aided Architectural Design in Europe (eCAADe) conference. Themed "Future Cities", the conference had a strong focus on sustainable planning with a scope starting from the building level and reaching for the region. This theme was motivated by the fact that for the first time in human history, more than 50% of the world's population lives in urban regions. Cities are now the largest, most complex, and most dynamic man-made systems. They are vibrant cen-ters of cultural life and engines that drive the global economy. Yet con-temporary cities are environmentally, socially, and economically unsustainable.
