本稿では,自動車に使用または使用が見込まれるナノマテリアルのヒト健康影響に関する情報,主に実験動物を用いて実施された試験結果を整理した.%This paper reviews studies on toxicity of nanomaterials including titanium dioxide nanoparticles, single- and multi-walled carbon nanotubes, and carbon black, which are used or come into use in automobile manufacture. Overall, the available data provides initial information on toxicity of nanomaterials. There are several indications that oxidative stress and inflammation may be involved in the toxicity of nanomaterials. However, the database of toxicity studies of nanomaterials is still very limited. To clarify their toxicity and provide information suitable for risk assessment, studies should be conducted using well-characterized nanomaterials, standard protocols, and the relevant route and doses ot numan exposure.
